Who needs a costume when you can buy the real thing? Vintage stores and online auctions are a great source for genuine, gently-used period clothing, from Victorian times to the late 20th century. If you're looking for authentic attire from these eras and don't need to match a look or outfit more than one or two people, this is the place to go!
Vintage men's clothing is much harder to find than women's clothing, especially clothing from prior to the mid-20th century. Clothing for men is frequently mis-categorized in online auctions - doing a search or browsing several categories may be necessary if you're looking for something specific.
Expect plenty of bidding competition for older items, designer clothing and other rare or hightly sought-after styles, however if you keep looking sometimes you can sneak in and snag a bargain!
