Medieval and Renaissance Styles

Not surprising considering the amount of time covered by these eras (11th through 16th centuries), fashions underwent a number of changes during the Medieval and Renaissance times, from simple to complex and back again.

Fashions of the well-to-do were generally more ornate, with more embellishment and made from richer fabrics. In Renaissance times, the upper classes even decreed that commoners could only wear one color of clothing!
